Instructions for setting up CDA to handle the Encompass Parts Group

 

Effective January 2, 2009, Tritronics and Vance Baldwin will be merged into the Encompass Parts Group.  Therefore, these two accounts will become one account in CDA.  The following procedure will outline what will be required in CDA to handle this. 

  1. You must upgrade your CDA software to version 8.7j or higher.  This is a free upgrade to anyone already on any 8.7 build.
  2. Now you must create a new Vendor’s record for Encompass.  In the Vendor’s menu, click on “Add New Parts Vendors”.  Complete this page as you would for any new Vendor.  Please use one of the following rules to enter your Encompass Account Number.
  1.  Next, open the Communications Menu.  You will notice that the links for Tritronics and Vance Baldwin are no longer there.   However, you now have a setup link for Encompass Parts.  Click on this link now.
  2. If you already had this information set up for Vance Baldwin, these fields will be filled in.  You will need to change the Vendor Code to the new Encompass code that you just set up.  If these fields are blank, you will need to use your existing Vance Baldwin account number and Web login information or you will need to acquire new information from Encompass Parts Group at (800) 432-8542.  Existing Tritronics customers can obtain an Encompass account number at the following link.  http://www.encompassparts.com/tritronics/
  3. Now you need to add Encompass Parts to the EDI processor file.

 You will also discover that Vance Baldwin and Tritronics have been removed from the On-Line parts search feature and replaced with Encompass Group.  The results of the search will combine both inventories.
